Dedicated talent pool

The model

Not every organisation has the steady volume that justifies a dedicated team. Workload arrives in peaks — a tender response, a modification campaign, a shutdown, a client deadline — and between peaks the work does not support permanent headcount.

The talent pool model gives you access to vetted engineers on a flexible basis. They work inside your processes and under your direction, and the commitment scales with what you actually need rather than what you forecast a year ago.

Where this model is weaker. Because engineers move between engagements, accumulated project knowledge is lower than in a dedicated team. For complex, long-running design work, a dedicated team will usually deliver better value despite the higher commitment.

How engineers are vetted

Every engineer in the pool has been assessed on technical capability in their discipline, on the quality of their written output, and on whether they can work inside somebody else's standards without constant correction. That last one eliminates more candidates than the first two.

  • Discipline competence assessed against the work they will actually do, not a generic test
  • Written deliverable quality reviewed — the report matters as much as the model
  • Ability to follow external standards and revision discipline
  • Communication in English at the level the engagement requires
