Independent verification and design review
Somebody else produced a design or a simulation, and it needs checking by a party with no stake in the answer. This is the work our credentials exist for — assessor-level competence applied to someone else's analysis.

Your organisation is building or maturing an in-house simulation capability and needs the methodology settled — what to model, how, with what acceptance criteria, and how results get signed off.

Training →Why independence has commercial value
A design office checking its own work has an interest in the answer. That is not an accusation of bad faith — it is simply how incentives work, and every certifying authority, insurer and lender knows it.
An independent check from a qualified third party carries weight in those conversations precisely because the checker has nothing to lose by finding a problem. Where IDAC has produced the original design, we say so and recommend a different reviewer. Independence you have to explain is not independence.
